Technical Services Advisor

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Services Advisor to join our busy Technical Service team based at our Head office in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position is focused on providing a technical advisory service for the company’s product portfolio of tile adhesives, grouts and sealants.

 

Key accountabilities for this role are:

  • Providing accurate advice over the telephone and written technical advice to end-users, customers and t commercial teams on the Companies range of tile adhesives, grouts, sealants and building related products.
  • Dealing promptly and efficiently with all customer enquiries and ensuring these are resolved in a professional manner.
  • Writing accurate technical tiling specifications for specifiers, architects, distributors and contractors in line with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Supporting the commercial team on major technical projects which may include site visits.
  • Working with internal customers such as the R&D, marketing and the commercial team offering additional technical support and information as required.

About you:

  • Experience of working within a technical/customer service-based role would be an advantage
  • A working knowledge of science-based subjects or any previous experience within the construction industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential.
  • The ability to write accurate and concise reports, including those based on laboratory test results.
  • You should possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Be computer literate.
  • You should be a tam player and be able to work well under pressure.

Specification Sales Manager – Northern England

We are currently recruiting for a Specification Sales Manager, focused on the North of England to join our team.

Reporting to the Head of Specifications, this position is focused on securing specifications for the company’s product portfolio of tile adhesives, grouts and adhesives.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Responsible for securing specifications for the core range of tile adhesives, grouts and additives into commercial projects, including offices, apartment blocks, hotels, schools, sports/leisure complexes and through the projects with Main Contractors/Developers, Tiling contractors and Distributors to completion.
  • Developing new business with architects and interior designers.
  • Sales to be fulfilled through distribution/merchant channel, managed by the Area Sales team, so liaising closely with these colleagues will be essential.
  • A suite of Riba accredited CPD modules to use.
  • Support from a market-leading Technical Advisory Service team and a field-based team of product support technicians.

About you:

  • Demonstrable track record of success selling technical building products to Architects, Interior Designers or Landscape Designers.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • New business hunter capable of generating and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Team player, able to build relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent territory planning capability to help achieve the required activity levels/ratios.
  • Self-motivated, you will have a strong desire to succeed in this role.
  • Knowledge of tile adhesives or ceramic tile associated products is preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience of dealing with contractors/developers/tile fixers would also be an advantage.
