Five Day Floor and Wall Tiling Course

Our aim is to provide the developing tilers or associated professionals with the most up-to-date knowledge of tiling techniques and the skills to apply them. The courses combine modern training techniques including presentations, workshops, demonstrations as well as direct ‘hands on’ practical training, and are held in our state-of-the-art Innovation and Technology Centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

The training techniques include presentations, workshops, demonstrations and hands-on practical in individual working bays with mock-up windows, pipework, toilets, etc.  These activities are designed to reflect real life installations.Throughout the course, delegates will use and mix professional adhesives and grouts onto realistic backgrounds. On completion of the course, delegates will receive a BAL Certificate of Attendance, literature and BAL product worth more than the cost of the course at average trade prices when course fee is paid.

COURSE CONTENT

A Floor and Wall tile fixing appreciation with due regard for all aspects of health and safety

  • Floor and wall backgrounds, identification and preparation

Practice in the use of:

  • Setting out
  • Tile fixing
  • Tile cutting
  • Tile cutting tools
  • Tile Trims

Appreciation of:

  • Application of all types of adhesives and grouts, including epoxy
  • Movement joints, both profile and sealants

Practice in the use of:

  • Mixing
  • Spreading
  • Appropriate tools used
  • Types
  • Specifications
